IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jack Bruce
Headley
May 25, 1943 – June 19, 2024
Jack Bruce Headley passed away June 19, 2024. Jack was born May 25, 1943, in New Brighton PA, the son of Melvin J. and Grace Turney Headley. He is survived by his wife Tessie Guanco Headley, his son Jack Brendan Headley, husband of Kristen Headley of Jackson, NJ and two daughters Kerry Headley and Alice Headley, wife of Emily Pirkle, all of Portland, Oregon. He is also survived by his brother Richard Headley, of Pittsburgh, PA and six loving grandchildren. His former wife, Mary Beth Martin Headley predeceased him in March 1988. His sister Donna Schutte passed away in 2010 in San Francisco.
After graduating from Geneva College in 1966, Jack spent his entire professional career of forty years at Armstrong World Industries where he held managerial positions in Occupational Safety, as Plant Chemist, and Environmental Affairs.
As a youth, Jack owned a horse which he cared for diligently. He joined the US Army Reserves following high school and was honorably discharged after completing eight years of service. Jack was an avid golfer and also enjoyed swimming and reading. A devoted TV sports fan, he cheered on his favorite teams in baseball and college football.
Jack's self-effacing nature was coupled with what can only be described as an audacious sense of humor which has bequeathed to his family and friends a treasure trove of memorable observations and behaviors.
