Jack M. Clare, 86, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on May 28, 2016 at Brethren Village Retirement Community. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late David and Mary Clare. Jack was the loving husband of Marion S. Clare who died December 2014. Together, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on December 12 2014. Jack was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. A veteran, he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict of which he went on a Good Will Tour of South America with the Thunder Birds. He enjoyed working at the family business, Jack M. Clare & Son, into his late 70's. Jack liked hunting and fishing. He was a lifetime member of Covenant United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the 8th Ward Club, VFW & the American Legion Post 34. Surviving are two sons: Michael Clare (Candace Boyd) and Daniel Clare (Laurie); and four grandchildren: Michael Clare, David Clare, Alexander Clare (Laura) and Lindsey Clare. Family and Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10-11 am with a Funeral Service to follow on Friday, June 10, 2016 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA 17602. Jack will be laid to rest beside his wife, Marion, at Riverview Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Covenant United Methodist Church, 110 N. Mulberry St., Lancaster, PA 17603 or Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Drive, Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
