Obituary

J. Martin Sammons, 93, of 300 St. Mark Drive in Lititz, and formerly of 113 Silver Spring Rd., Landisville, died Thursday at the Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center.

He was the husband of Della M. Wyatt Sammons, with whom he celebrated their 71 st wedding anniversary this past November 10 th . Born in Mountain City, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Harrison and Effie Leffler Sammons.

Martin had worked as an auto mechanic for James H. Landis of Lancaster for 30 years, retiring in 1975.

He was a member of Westgate Baptist Church, and he enjoyed fishing and hunting.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Charles L.  married to Shirley Sammons of Lititz, a daughter Helen C.  married to Jerome Guaspari of Mt. Joy, 6 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Faye Raines of Spartanburg, SC. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Dayton and Ray Sammons.

Friend will be received on Monday at the Charles Snyder Funeral Home and Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz  from 1-2PM, with the funeral service to follow at 2PM. Interment in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
