Irene "Rene" M. Leaman, 94, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015 at Landis Homes Retirement Community. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late George and Amelia Leaman. She was a Registered Nurse, specializing in physical therapy throughout her career. She was a graduate of the University of Southern California School of Nursing and soon after joined the US Army during World War II, where she served as a 2nd LT in the Nursing Corps. Following her service, she worked for Easter Seals, the Elizabethtown Children's Hospital, and with the State of PA with children's' physical therapy. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing duplicate bridge and bowling. Rene was a member of the former St. Andrew's United Church of Christ. She is survived by her 5 nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Lester, George, Anna, Samuel, John, Myrtle, Ada and Mary Myers and by a nephew. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Rene's Memorial Service on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 10AM from the WEST Bethany Chapel at Landis Homes Retirement Community, 1001 E. Oregon Rd., Lititz, PA. Interment will be in Mellingers Mennonite Cemetery.
