Iosif Kovacs, 89, of Lancaster, passed away at Conestoga View on Wednesday, December 21, 2016. He was born in Oradea, Romania to the late Iosif and Rozalia Kovacs. Iosif was the loving husband of Ioana Ghimpu Kovacs for 62 years last September 8th.

He worked as a manager in a fabric factory in Romania for 37 years.

In addition to his wife Ioana, Iosif is survived by his stepson Liviu Ghimpu, husband of Elena of Lancaster, son Iosif Kovacs of Romania, granddaughter Monica Campbell of Lancaster, and two great grandchildren. His daughter Irina Comocozi and six siblings preceded Iosif in death.

A viewing will take place 1 to 2 PM, followed by the funeral at 2 PM, on Monday December 26, 2016 with Pastor Mark J. Thiboldeaux officiating, at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA 17602. Interment in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
