Ioana Kovacs, 93, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025. Born in Romania, she was the wife of the late Iosef Kovacs.

Ioana was a seamstress in Romania, until moving to the United States at the age of 57. She then worked at Conestoga View in Lancaster for 10 years.

She is survived by her son, Liviu Marcel-Ghimpu, and wife Elena; granddaughter Monica Ghimpu; and great-grandchildren Aidan and Campbell Ghimpu.

Friends and family will be welcomed on Monday, August 18, 2025, from 1-2PM at Charles Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, 414 E. King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602, with funeral service to follow at 2PM. Ioana will be laid to rest following the service at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
