Herbert S. Croom, 67, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully at Lancaster General Hospital on Sunday, November 26, 2017. Born in Merced, CA, he was the son of the late Herbert and Ruth (Oney) Croom, Jr. and was the loving husband of Cynthia B. (Cox) Croom, with whom he celebrated 14 years of marriage. Herb proudly served in the Air Force, in Thailand during the Vietnam War era. Following his honorable discharge, he worked as an electrician for the former Federal-Mogul Corp. in Lititz. A die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan, he also enjoyed computers, but especially loved spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Herb is survived by his children: Jesse A. Croom, husband of Hayley, of York and Stephanie L. Dunn, wife of Bryan, of Harrisburg; grandson, Cameron; brother, Michael E. Croom, husband of Susan, of Gilbertsville; nephew, Eric Croom, husband of Betsy, of Los Angeles, CA; and his beautiful Welsh Corgi, Benji. Memorial Services for Herb will be held at 7PM, Friday, December 1, 2017 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home from 6 to 7PM, prior to the service. Interment at Indiantown Gap, with military honors, will take place at a later date.
