Henry R. Nein Jr., 73 of Conestoga passed away on October 27,2023. Known to all as Junior, he was born in Lancaster to the late Henry R. Nein Sr. and Marie Blossom (Minnick) Nein. For over 30 years he devoted his professional life to International Paper, previously known as Union Camp as a tow motor driver.
Outside the workplace, Junior had a deep passion for collecting vinyl records(oldies), a hobby that brought him countless hours of enjoyment. His love for the Dallas Cowboys was also well-known, and he cheered for his team with unwavering enthusiasm. In his free time, he enjoyed camping and fishing trips, or watching a gameshow or lifetime movie. He found joy in watching his grandchildren play sports. He also valued working out and would routinely go to the gym.
Junior is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Cheryl (Smith) Nein, whom he married in 1975, and their two daughters, Tracy Carroll and Melinda Oatman (Mark). He was a beloved grandfather to Paige Oatman Josh Oatman, Braden Carroll (Jamie), Kaleb Carroll, and Gavin Carroll, sharing his wisdom and love with each of them. Junior is also survived by his siblings, Steve Nein, Kathy Hatfield, Dawn Kitch (Tom), and Vicky Buch (Aaron), as well as his Aunt Sue Albright and Uncle John "Max" Minnick. He also leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Along with his parents Junior was preceded in death by his sisters, Sherry Miller and Tresa Spoo, whose memories he cherished.
A celebration of Junior's life will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023, at the Charles F. Snyder III Funeral Home, located at 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA. Family invites guests to a viewing prior to service from 11am until the time of service at 12pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association at https://pages.heart.org/
Henry will forever be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and his love for life's simple pleasures. He leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
