Obituary

Henry Norman Kline Jr. age 85 passed away May 25, 2006 at Hamilton Arms Nursing Center, in Lancaster, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer Disease. He was born and raised in Lancaster County, the son of the late Henry Norman and Anna Kline.

In April he and his wife, Mary Ann Eshelman Kline, celebrated their 53 rd wedding anniversary. He is also survived by two children; Mary Ann Hershey and Henry Norman Kline III, both of Lancaster; two granddaughters; Jenelle Hershey and Hannah Kline, a sister Helen wife of Edward F. Krieg, Bethesda, MD; predeceased by four sisters and two brothers.

He was a graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School where he excelled in several sports; and inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001. Following service in the U.S. Air Force as a B26 pilot in the European Theater in WWII, Lt. Kline graduated from Villanova University where he played baseball and basketball. His business career began as an engineer at New Holland Machine Co. He then retired from IBM after 30 years of service as a Systems Engineer. Norm was an avid golfer, a former member of Media Heights C.C. and Lancaster C.C. He was also an active member of Lancaster Northeast Rotary Club, and a PIAA referee.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Norm's service Friday, June 2, at 12 noon at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Rd., Lancaster. Visitation will be held from 10:30-12:00 noon at the church. Burial will be private. Kindly omit flowers. Contributions may be made to the Lancaster Catholic H.S. Scholarship Fund, 650 Juliette Ave., Lancaster, PA 17601 or charity of your choice.
