Obituary

Helen Angelos Wieler, 96, of Lancaster passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015 at the Mennonite Home after a brief illness. Born in Reading, PA she was the daughter of the late Mike and Mary (Pantelidou) Stevens. Her first husband was the late Elias N. Angelos who died in 1975 and her second husband was the late Harry H. Wieler who passed away in 2009. Helen and her first husband Elias were co-owners of Louis Luncheonette from 1947-1967 on the corner of East King and South Marshall streets. She then went on to work for the School District of Lancaster, McCaskey High School in the Food Service Dept. She was a member of the Annunciation Orthodox Church and was an honorary member of the Philoptochos Society and a former member of the Daughters of Penelope. Helen was also a member of the Guys & Dolls Senior Group at St. Philip's Catholic Church, the Silver Threads Senior Group and was a Park City Twalker. Helen enjoyed playing bingo and traveling and was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and loved spending time with her family. The family would like to thank all the staff in Meadow Run of the Mennonite Home for all their care and support. She is survived by her children: Mary A. McClune wife of Carl W., of Willow St, and Nick E. Angelos husband of Nancy of Irvine, CA. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Stacy, Darius, Alex, Tashia and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Capt. William Angelos and two sisters, Sophie Xavios and Evelyn Vlassis. Funeral Services will be held at the Annunciation Orthodox Church, 64 Hershey Ave, Lancaster, PA 17603 on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 10:30AM with Father Hector Firoglanis officiating. The viewing will be held at the church from 9:30-10:30AM. Interment in Conestoga Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Helen's memory may be made to Annunciation Church or Philoptochos Society at church.
