Helen H. Shenk, 89, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Pleasant View Retirement Community. She was the wife of the late Amos G. Shenk, Jr. who passed away in 2007. Born in Konnarock, VA she was the daughter of the late George and Carrie (Combs) Howell. Helen worked at Millersville University for over 24 years. She loved being on her computer where she wrote poetry and short stories. Helen also loved gardening and traveling. She is survived by a son, Steven S., married to Autumn C. Shenk of East Petersburg; 2 grandsons, Mark Shenk, married to Lindsay of Mountville, Aaron Shenk fiancé of Katelyn Rhine of Marietta and one great-granddaughter, Julianna Nguyen. She is also survived by two sisters, Dorothy Duvall of Peach Bottom, Shirley Shenberger of Lititz and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers. Friends will be received Wednesday, February, 20, 2019 from 1-2PM at Trinity United Church of Christ, 2340 State St, East Petersburg, with the funeral service to follow at 2PM. Interment in Manheim Fairview Cemetery.
