Helen Jane Pretzman, 90, of Millersville, died Monday, February 14, 2011, at the Essa Flory Hospice Center. Her husband of 55 years Richard J. Pretzman died in 1996.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Eugene P. and Blanche M. MacDougall Rogers. Helen graduated from Penn Manor High School and then worked as a secretary for Armstrong Cork Co. Later she was a teller for Harris Savings and Loan and then became a part time office manager for the Demuth Foundation. A lifetime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Millersville, she had served as secretary and sang in the choir.
Helen is survived by four children, Susan L. wife of Royal Unzicker, Sellersville, Patricia L., wife of Foster Doak, York, Cathy J. wife of James Kauffman, Conestoga and Richard K., husband of Laurie Pretzman, Phoenix, AZ; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and three siblings, E. Glenn Rogers, Florida, Ruth Webb, New Jersey and Jean McCorkle, York. Her siblings Gertrude Gaston, Mary Lou Varian and Nancy Ribner preceded Helen in death.
A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Thursday, February 17, 2011, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with The Rev. Constance L. Mentzer officiating. Helen's family will greet friends immediately following the memorial service. Private interment in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. Please omit flowers.
