Helen V. (Petzar) Yoder, formerly of Pottstown, PA, passed away on November 9, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM on Friday, November 25, 2016 at St. John Neumann Roman Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Road, Lancaster, PA 17601. Friends will be received at 11 AM.

Born on March 5, 1928, Helen was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna Marie (Haluska) Petzar. She was a graduate of Pottstown High School and Reading Business Institute. In May 1947 she married Daniel Yoder and, with the births of her children, became a full-time homemaker. She served as a leader in parent-teacher associations and in the Catholic Church, especially in doing bereavement ministry, being recognized with the Woman-of-the-Year Award in 1990 from the Epiphany Cathedral Women's Guild in Venice, FL. She was a devoted wife and mother as well as an ardent bridge player and amateur genealogist.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, her son Danny, her brothers George and Paul Petzar, and her sister Ann Adam. Helen is survived by her daughter Janice (and husband John Zipp); her son Jim (and wife Pam Artz); and her seven grandchildren: Kate, Ted, Dan, Sam, Camilla, Addy, and Ricky In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John Neumann Guardian Angel Fund, 601 E.
