Helen P. Warfel, 90, believing in her Savior, went home to be with Him on Saturday, October 21, 2006.

Born in Lancaster, and formerly residing at 523 Poplar St., Helen was the daughter of the late Harry C. and Elizabeth Kirchner Hanley. She was formerly married to Paul Warfel Sr., of Lancaster.

Helen had worked for Schick Inc. for 23 years, retiring in 1979. She had previously worked at Stelle's Silk Mill for 8 years.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Helen was a devoted mother and grandmother, and enjoyed crafts in her later years at the day care center. Both nature and animals held a special place in her heart.

She is survived by a son, Paul W., Jr., married to Darlene Warfel of Holtwood; 3 grandchildren: Steven, Angela, and Joseph  married to Lori Warfel, and a great granddaughter Olivia. She is also survived by a sister, Sarah J. Warfel of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Hanley, and by 4 sisters: Jane F. Bailey, M. Elizabeth Hanley, Ann Hanley, and Margaret Manuel.

Friends will be received at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 440 St. Joseph St., Lancaster, PA 17603 on Monday from 10-11AM, with Mass to follow at 11AM. Interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. Please omit flowers, making contributions in her memory to St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund.
