Helen C. McCracken, 88, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013 at her residence.

She was the wife of Paul J. McCracken, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage this past October 12 ^th . Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Clara Seabold Sonet.

Helen had worked for the former American Seed Co. of Lancaster for 8 years. She had also worked for the former Raub Supply Co and the Maryland Casualty Company in Philadelphia.

She was a 66 year member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.

Helen was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 7294 of Millersville, and a past member of St. Philip's Guys and Dolls. She loved to dance, especially to swing music, traveled with her husband throughout the United States and was a kind person, being a friend to all.

In addition to her husband, Paul, she is survived by her son, Richard P. married to Susan McCracken of Charleston, SC, her daughter Sharon L. married to Gerald Yeaglin of Columbia, her 5 grandchildren: Johnny, Elizabeth, Kevin, Meredith, and Bryan, and by her brother, Albert married to Evelyn Sonet of Philadelphia. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Eleanor Borkosky and Marguerite Bistline.

Friends will be received on Friday, April 26, 2013 from 10-11AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 558 W. Walnut St., Lancaster, PA 17603, with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11AM, the Rev. Michael Messner as Celebrant. Interment in Conestoga Memorial Park.
