Helen Marie DiCola entered peacefully into her eternal rest on September 9, 2008 at the Essa Flory Hospice Center, just two days before her 90 th birthday. Helen was born in Compass, PA (Gap), Lancaster County, and was the daughter of the late W. Earl Cauller and the late Susan (Wenger) Cauller. She was the wife of the late Thomas A. DiCola who died in 1998. Helen and Tom were married for 58 years.
Helen was a graduate of Paradise High School. She was employed by Garvey's Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician for 15 years, working there until she was 82 years old.
Helen was an active member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Legion of Mary at St. Anthony's, and the Bereavement Committee. She enjoyed visiting residents at Conestoga View, and found ways to impact the lives of so many. Helen was an avid volunteer at Landis Homes where she resided for the past eight years. She also volunteered for the American Red Cross.
Helen is survived by her four children, Kathleen A. Wiker, married to Park Wiker Jr., Donna DiCola Stewart, Thomas A. DiCola Jr. married to Joan, all of Lancaster, and Vincent L. DiCola married to Elizabeth, of Van Nuys, CA. Helen cherished her relationships with each of her five grandchildren: Karen Arbogast, Dean Weaver, Danielle DiCola, Jessica DiCola, and Park Wiker II. She is also survived by two great grandchildren, Sean and Brandon Weaver. Surviving are also a brother, James W. Cauller, and a sister, Betty Shee both of Christiana. She was preceded in death by her brothers Earl and Richard.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial from St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602 on Saturday, September 13 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Daniel C. Mitzel as celebrant and Rev. Norman Hohenwarter, Jr. as concelebrant. A viewing will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King St., Lancaster on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Final Commendation and Farewell will be at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. Please omit flowers, and memorial contributions in Helen's memory may be sent to St. Anthony Catholic Church, or Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Drive, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
