Harry J. "Joe" Bailey Jr., 70, of Lancaster passed away on Saturday August 16 ^th , 2008 at M.S. Hershey Medical Center. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Harry J. Sr. and Lorraine E. (Wright) Bailey.

Mr. Bailey was an employee for the City of Lancaster for 25 years. He also worked as a greeter to Bent Creek residences. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was past president of Local Union AFSCME Local # 1896. He was a member of the V.F.W. in Lancaster and St. Anthony Catholic Church .

Surviving are his three children, one daughter, Barbara Ann married to William Washington of Cleveland Ohio, two sons, James Bailey of Lancaster and David Allen Bailey married to Olga, of  Lancaster, four grand children, two great grandchildren, two sisters, Lorraine E. Sheldon of Salunga and Dolores, married to Larry Rubenstein of Bellevue NE, two brothers, John Bailey married to Loretta of Willow Street and James Bailey of Lancaster, several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 21 ^st , 2008 at St. Anthony Catholic Church 501 East Orange St. Lancaster, PA 17602 at 10:30AM with Rev. Daniel Mitzel as Celebrant. There will be a viewing Thursday at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home Inc. 414 East King Street Lancaster PA 17602 from 9-10AM. Interment will be in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery.
