It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Harold Meck Keeport, who left us peacefully to join his Lord and Savior on April 26, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on March 27, 1941, in Pennsylvania, Harold was a devoted husband, father, and Poppy, who lived a life full of passion and purpose.
Harold’s career in maintenance and groundskeeping with Penn Manor High School for over 37 years allowed him to nurture not just the spaces around him, but the people he encountered. He was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church and recently of the Mill Creek Church community, where he found great enjoyment and connection.
An avid camper, Harold cherished the moments spent outdoors with his family. He found joy in fishing and gardening, often seen tending to his impressive collection of flowers and growing his own vegetables. Harold had a genuine love for the earth and always kept his hands busy, demonstrating his nurturing spirit.
A true enthusiast, Harold had a fascination with steam engines and trains, traveling across the country to indulge in his passion. He was a proud member of the Railroad Association Club in Christiana, sharing stories and experiences with fellow rail enthusiasts. Additionally, he dedicated over 1,000 service hours volunteering with Hospice & Community Care, following the passing of his first wife, Marian Lee Keeport, to return the care to them that they extended to his family during their time of need. `
Harold is survived by his children, Kevin Keeport, companion of Marnie Duncan of New Providence, Kendra Hardy of WA, and Kyra Fry, wife of Loren of Lancaster; grandchildren, Jennifer Watson (Matt), Donelle Keeport, Marshall Keeport (fiancé Macenzie), Madeline Halabura (Matthew), McKenzie Hanaburgh (Robert), Darin Fry (Lauren), Mikayla Bitts (Michael), Garrett Fry (Aubrie), and Grant Fry, 13 great grandchildren, and siblings, Reba Sharp, Dorothy Lefever, and Janet Stauffer. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Chester and Elsie Keeport, and his wives, Marian Lee Keeport and Judith A. Bollinger Keeport.
Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating Harold’s life. A viewing will take place on May 3, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel at Brethren Village, 3001 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA. A funeral service will begin at 3:00 PM. Harold will be laid to rest in a private graveside service at Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Hospice & Community Care, or The Good Samaritan Fund of Brethren Village.
