Dr. Haig M. Vahradian, 48, of Lancaster, passed away  on Friday, December 26, 2008.

Dr. Vahradian earned an A.A. degree in aeronautics, B.A., and M.S. degrees in transportation and manufacturing aeronautics from California State University Fresno, and an M.A. degree in manufacturing/automation and a Doctor of Industrial Technology from the University of Iowa (1997).

Since 2002 Dr. Vahradian taught metals and manufacturing technologies in the Millersville University Department of Industry and Technology. He was advisor to the Millersville University Human Powered Submarine Team and the student chapter of the National Association of Industrial Technology.

Dr. Vahradian was proud of his Armenian heritage and enjoyed cooking Armenian foods and sharing his culinary efforts and stories with friends.  Dr. Vahradian is survived by his mother Elizabeth, and his sister Anoush Peterson and her husband Doug of Colorado, his brother, Harry Vahradian and his wife Lisa of California, his nieces Melissa, Sarah, and Katrina of Colorado, daughters of Anoush and Doug, his maternal aunts, Rose Meyer of Arkansas and Pat Torosian of California, and many cousins.  He was also extremely attached to his beautiful Pomeranian, Princess.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be sent to the Dr Haig Vahradian Memorial Fund through Millersville Federal Credit Union, 22 W. Cottage Ave., Millersville, PA  17551.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 5, 2009, at 1:00 pm at Grace United Methodist Church, 163 West Frederick St, Millersville, PA.  There will be an opportunity for the family to receive guests following the service there will be a gathering with the family in the church hall.
