H. Wayne Frey, 77, of Lancaster, PA passed away unexpectedly in the Emergency Room at Lancaster General Hospital on Thursday, March 10, 2016. He was the husband of Joyce (Graul) Frey to whom he married on November 9, 1963 and would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary this November.

Born in Manor Twp., he was a son of the late Charles Hoover and Anna Buckwalter (Hess) Frey. Wayne was a 1956 graduate of East Lampeter High School and was employed and retired from Norfolk-Southern Railroad after 43 years as an Operations Safety Manager. He was an avid train collector and enjoyed attending train shows and was a member of the Train Collector Association and the Holy Spirit Lutheran Church in Lancaster, PA. Wayne served his country in the US Army. He was a loving and caring husband and father who will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife Joyce, he is survived by his son David W. Frey of Lancaster, PA; four sisters Elizabeth G. Ament and Miriam J. Walton both of Landisville, PA, Arlene Fawber of Lancaster, PA and Jean M. wife of Harold L. Krumrine of Littlestown, PA; one sister-in-law May E. Frey of Lancaster, PA. Wayne was preceded in death by two brothers James H. Frey and Robert T. Frey and a sister Pauline E. Hess. He is also survived by seven nephews, nine nieces and two deceased nephews.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 3pm from the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Interment will be held privately. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 2:00-3:00PM at the funeral home.
