Obituary

Gulderen "Rose" Ersoy Larmie, 88, of Lancaster, passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on Saturday, November 6, 2021. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert "Sonny" Larmie, who passed away on November 7, 1998.

Born in Istanbul, Turkey, Rose was raised by her grandmother, Eminye Semiye and lived all over the country before relocating to the USA in the 1960's.

Rose was known for being a fantastic cook and loved preparing her take on traditional Turkish foods- especially her baklava and stuffed grapeleaves. She was a proud homemaker who loved keeping a spotless home. Rose was an award-winning gardener and credited the Lancaster soil for her success. She loved travelling all over the country. In her spare time, she enjoyed painting, knitting, crochet, and needlepoint.

Rose is survived by her children, Anna M. Larmie, John P. Larmie, and Emily R. Gates; her grandchildren, Roberto Gutierrez, Tony Hawkins, Nicholas Larmie, Josie Gates, Madeline Larmie, and Benjamin Larmie; and her great-granddaughter, Romi Hawkins. In addition to her husband, Rose is preceded in death by her parents, grandmother, and two brothers.
