Gordon H. Fries, 89, of Lancaster, entered into rest on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014 at The Glen at Willow Valley. He was the husband of Ruth "Rusty" C. Fries, with whom he shared 68 years of marriage this September. 21st. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Thomas R. and Hallie Hatz Fries, who many may know from the family business, Fries Flowers. Gordon was a 1942 graduate of JP McCaskey High School, graduated from Tri-State College, Indiana and had worked as an aeronautical engineer for the Boeing Company in Philadelphia for 30 years. In addition to his beloved wife, Ruth, he will be lovingly missed by his children: Lesley Franconi of Lancaster, Lorinda married to Gary Rogers of Lawton, OK, and David married to Chris Fries of Springboro, OH; and by his grandchildren, Steven, Brian, Austin, Brian, and Amber; and sister-in-law Lillian Cunningham. Interment will be private. Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
