Gloria L. Schnee, 79, of Lancaster, passed away at Masonic Village, on Thursday, January 11, 2018. Born in Lancaster, Gloria was the daughter of the late Michael D. and Johanna R. (Huss) Henry. She was the loving and faithful wife of Philip R. Schnee, with whom she celebrated over 58 years of marriage. Gloria was a 1956 graduate of McCaskey High School, where she proudly served as the Editor of the Yearbook and was a member of the cheerleading squad. She worked for over 45 years for WGAL, working her way up to Assistant Controller. Recently, Gloria was honored by being inducted into the WGAL 2017 Hall of Fame. Following her retirement from WGAL, she volunteered for the Lancaster City Police Department. A faithful member of All Saints Anglican Church, Gloria sang in the church choir. She also enjoyed singing with the Lancaster Chorale. Gloria was a veracious writer, who entered a daily journal of her life in her diaries. She was also an avid reader. The most important part of Gloria's life was her family; she especially loved her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Gloria is survived by her three children: Sharon L Gromis, wife of Jeffery J., of Landisville; John P. Schnee, husband of Cynthia, of Manheim; and Karen L. Largent, wife of Todd, of York; five grandchildren: Caroline L. and Keith Gromis; and Sarah, Juliana, and Timothy Schnee (she was the biggest fan at dance recitals, musicals, concerts, football games & other activities); and two siblings: Dorothy Oblender, wife of Robert, of Millersville and Shirley Webb, of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Arthur C. Webb, III. A viewing will be held from 6-8PM, Friday, January 19, 2018, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10AM, Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Sell Chapel at Masonic Village, 1 Masonic Dr., Elizabethtown, PA 17022. Family and friends will be received from 9-10AM, prior to the Mass. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
