Gloria Jean Nies, 72, of Columbia, formerly of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Susquehanna Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Howard C. and Arlene W. (Eckert) Booker. She worked for St. Anne's Retirement Community as a nurse's aide for many years and enjoyed making cards for people, as well as flower crafting. Gloria Jean was a faithful member of Columbia Christian Fellowship in Columbia. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl L. Schatz wife of Terry of Mount Joy; two grandchildren, Sharrisse and Nathan Coxey. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gibb Booker. Memorial Services will be held at 6:30PM on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Columbia Christian Fellowship, 1290 Prospect Rd, Columbia PA with Rev. Hub Smith officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Susan G.
