Gloria G. Gerz was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 11, 2023.

She was the beloved wife of 71 years to the late Barry T. Gerz, Sr. and the daughter of the late Martin and Idella (Angstadt) Hetrich.

She was a graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School, class of 1951. Gloria was a member of St. Anthony's of Padua Catholic Church, Lancaster and a member of the American Legion Post 34, Lancaster.

Gloria, with her husband raised their 6 children and ran Barry Gerz Auto Sales. She enjoyed spending time with her husband at car shows. Gloria was a devoted Mother and Grandmother, making each holiday special. She loved the beach, playing cards, shopping, and baking. She especially loved taking the grandchildren to Disney World in Florida.

Her love will live on in her children: Nancy, married to Mark Clemens of Kempton: David Gerz, married to Gina of Strasburg, Daniel Gerz, married to Bonnie of Strasburg, Frances, married to Stephen Plank of Lancaster.

Gloria will forever be in the hearts of her 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother Wayne Hetrich, daughter Debra (Gerz) Smyth; and son Barry T. Gerz, Jr.

A Funeral Service honoring Gloria's memory will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at the Charles F. Snyder III Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA. A viewing will take place at the funeral home from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Interment to follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
