Gladys Mae (Beard) Royer, 86, of Lititz, passed away, Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at the Gardens of Lititz. Born in Rothsville in 1930, Gladys was the daughter of the late Paul Z. and Mabel (Zimmerman) Beard, Sr. She was the wife of the late Edwin L. Royer. A 1948 graduate of the former Rothsville High School, she worked 51 years for the Badorf Shoe Co., Lititz, until her retirement. Gladys was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Ephrata. Gladys loved to spend her time bird watching, reading, playing Scrabble, and working crossword puzzles. She is survived by 2 stepdaughters, Darby Lynn Lapp, wife of Richard, of Lancaster and Donna Marie Nash, wife of Vincent, of Ephrata; 2 step grandchildren; 4 step great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Robert D. Beard, Sr., of Stevens, and Herbert Beard, wife of Gloria, of Gretna Springs, Manheim; and 5 nephews and 9 nieces. Gladys was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Z. Beard, Jr. and a sister, Marian Jean Rossman. Funeral Services for Gladys will be held at 11AM, Monday, April 10, 2017, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home from 10AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Lincoln Cemetery, Ephrata.
