Giai Luu, 73, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully at Lancaster General Hospital on August 6, 2014. Born in Can Tho, Vietnam, Giai was the daughter of the late Tham Luu and Trinh Ma. She was the loving wife of Quan K. Tien, with whom she celebrated 54 years of marriage.

Giai had a fun-loving spirit and thoroughly enjoyed life. One of her special joys was spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren who brought her such great happiness. She had a wonderful sense of humor and always loved to smile. Giai was an excellent cook and also loved to tend to her herb and vegetable garden.

In addition to her husband, Giai is survived by her six children: Robert Tien, husband of Anita, of Fairfax, VA, Tiffany Tien, wife of Paul Tran, of Fairfax, VA, Andrew Tien, husband of Joy, of Lancaster, Connie Ciannilli, wife of Tom, of Exton, PA, Quyen Tien, husband of Manorack Phanthavong, of Broomall, PA, and Kim Tien, of New York City. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and four siblings. Giai was preceded in death by one sibling.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Friday, August 15, 2014, from 4PM to 8PM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2014 from 9 to 11AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Millersville Mennonite Cemetery.
