Geraldine Catherine Smith, 97, of Lancaster passed away, Tuesday April 4, 2017. Born in Columbia, PA she was the daughter of the late George Washington and Hannah (Killian) Young. She was married to the late Charles J. Smith for 75 years. Geraldine worked several jobs over her long lifetime, the last being a cashier at Pantry Pride Food Market in Ephrata. Geraldine enjoyed cooking, baking, playing bridge, gardening, and tennis. She was a member of the Lititz Rec Center and enjoyed swimming with Charles. She was also a longtime member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Lancaster. She is survived by her son; Lee David married to Doris Smith of Lititz; her daughter, Linda J. married to Donald Rittenhouse of Lancaster; her seven grandchildren: James Smith, Tami Holk, SSG Jason Leisey, Angela Gehron, April Smith, Jeremy Smith, and Krista Ferguson; thirteen great-grandchildren and one great great grandson. She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Jay Smith and her brother, George Young. Friends will be received on Friday, April 14, 2017 from 2-3PM at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA with the Memorial Service to follow at 3PM. Interment will be private in Silver Spring Cemetery.
