Geraldine M. Dietrich, 87, of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at The Glen at Willow Valley Communities.

She was the wife of the late Richard P. "Dick" Dietrich, who passed away in 2018. Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Anthony Machusick and the late Caroline M. (Postic-Machusick) Gehman.

Gerri graduated from the Reading Hospital School of Nursing, beginning a career as a Registered Nurse that took her to Reading Hospital, Bryn Mawr Hospital, Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, and Polyclinic Hospital in Harrisburg, where she was involved in the Lead Poisoning Prevention Program.

She attended St. Philip The Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Lancaster. Gerri enjoyed watching tennis, traveling to the US Open and Wimbledon to see matches. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband to Europe, Greece, the Ukraine, Russia, and visiting most of our national parks. She loved to play card and board games with her grandchildren and was very good at Scrabble. Gerri also enjoyed spending time in her gardens.

She is survived by her sons: Stephen married to Grace Dietrich of Marysville, Michael married to Sheila Dietrich of Santa Rosa, CA, and Richard married to Angela Dietrich of Perry Hall, MD; her 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; her siblings: Richard Machusick of Lincoln Park, Arlene Schaeffer of Myerstown, Ruthie Swisher of Reading, and Antoinette Joyner of Wisconsin; and her sister in law, Ann Duerr of Downingtown. She was preceded in death by her siblings: John Machuzick, Robert Machusick, and Evelyn Messner.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 11AM at St. Philip The Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2111 Millersville Pike, Lancaster, PA 17603.
