Gerald N. Doull Jr., 92, of Masonic Village Elizabethtown passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 20, 2022. He was the husband of Jeanne Marie Walsh with whom he shared 51 years of marriage. She preceded him in death on January 29, 2006. Born in Fulton, New York on February 11, 1930, he was the son of the late Gerald N. and Bernice Dorr Doull.
Gerald earned a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Korean War period from 1953 to 1956. Gerald spent a career working in the aftermarket support groups of servicing machinery for the oil and gas, and electric power markets. He had fairly extensive work related travels in North and South America, the Caribbean, Far and Middle East, and Europe. Post retirement he worked for FEMA for eight years.
Gerald was an avid reader, particularly enjoying historical autobiographies. He had a love of genealogical research and his Scottish heritage which led him often to the Highlands of Scotland to trace the footsteps of his ancestors. He had a wide variety of interests including dancing to Big Band music, sharing favorite stories from his work and travels, and in his later years, serenading many.
Gerald thoroughly enjoyed his extended family and held them close to his heart. He is survived by his four children, Kathleen Vargo, Lititz, PA; James Doull married to Deborah, Spring, TX; Barbara Addessi married to Daniel, Spring, TX; Eileen Walker married to Richard, Carbondale, IL; eight grandchildren, Jessica(Matt), Stephanie(Mark), Allison(Travis), Sara(Clayton), Chelsea(Michael), Kaitlin(Darren), Kyle(Rose), Kelsie; four great-grandchildren, Logan, Harper, Amelia, Hadley; sister-in-law Diane Williams of Mount Joy, PA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents and wife Jeanne, Gerald was preceded in death by his wife of 12 years, Patricia Luddington Travis, and sister, Linda Howard.
A private service will be held on Friday, March 25, 2002 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Masonic Village, 1 Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
