Gerald D. Cartwright, 91, of Lititz, PA, passed away at Moravian Manor on Monday, July 27, 2020.

He was the husband of the late Martha L. Giles Cartwright, who passed away in 2016. Born in Hamburg, PA, he was the son of the late Clarence E. and Esther K. Rubright Cartwright.

Gerald had worked at RCA/Burle Industries in Lancaster, where he was an electronic radio engineer and served as a manager.

He was a US Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving with the 53rd Recon Radar Group, based out of Bermuda. This Group was the first "Hurricane Hunters" and he was a radioman aircrewman in a B-17 Flying Fortress that flew into hurricanes.

He is survived by his daughters: Jennifer L. Cartwright and her husband Douglas Gray of Landaff, NH and Katharine A. Cartwright and her husband Dan Verrillo of Spruce Head, ME; his grandsons: Van Keith Herridge, Jr., Douglas Gray Jr., and Jeffrey Gray; his nephew Sam Hillo, and his brother, Anthony Wayne Cartwright.
