George E. Williams, 84, of Lancaster died Tuesday evening at Lancaster General Hospital.

He retired from Olmstead Air Force Base in Middletown as a material handler.

George enjoyed fishing, going to sales and auctions and his cat, Pepper.

He was of the protestant faith, and was a corporal in the Marines during WWII serving in the Guadalcanal.

Born in Lancaster he was the son of the late Franklin and Mary Hill Williams.  He was married to Mary E. McCorkill Williams who died in 2005.  Surviving are two children; Michael G. married to K. Lorraine Williams of Lancaster and Drusilla A. married to Jeffrey A. Nace of Washington Boro; three grandchildren; Jason Williams, Elizabeth Ludwig and Rebecca Horn; one sister, Mary married to Elmer Rill of Lancaster.  He was preceded in death by four brothers; Charles, Leroy, Robert and Theodore Williams and one sister, Caroline Kurtz.

Funeral services will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King St., Lancaster on Friday at 12:00noon.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00am until time of service.  Interment in Conestoga Memorial Park Mausoleum.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
