George Elmer Weichel, 58, of 24 Jolley Blvd. Roanoke Rapids died Tuesday, January 10, 2006.

Mr. Weichel, a native of Pittsburgh, was the son of the late Elmer H. and Elvira Weichel.  He was retired from the United States Navy serving his country during the Vietnam War.  He was employed as the Food Manager at Odom Prison.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Flawd Weichel; his son, Sean Weichel at home; one sister, Nell Hines of Pittsburgh, PA; his father and mother-in-law, Harry E. and Dorothy L. Flawd of Lancaster.  Funeral services will be held Thursday at 7pm in the Chapel of Askew Funeral Services in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Rick Gaskins officiating.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 2pm in Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster.
