George W. Troxell, 89, of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2018. He was the husband of Dorothy E. Forney Troxell, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage this past February 27th. Born in Wiconisco, PA, he was the son of the late Isaac B. and Bessie E. Dietrich Troxell. George had worked for Easco and K-D Tools as an assembler for many years, until retiring in 1988. Prior to this, he had worked for the Hamilton Watch Company. A very talented woodworker, he made many furniture pieces and built his own acoustic and electric guitars. He played not only the guitar but the ukulele and the banjo as well. He was also a HAM radio operator and enjoyed puttering in his garden and landscaping. George was a US Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War as a Machinists Mate Third Class. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Lois Seredych of Wiconisco, and by several nieces and a nephew. Friends will be received on Monday, November 19, 2018 from 10:30-11AM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 N. George St., Millersville, PA, with the Memorial Service to follow at 11AM. Interment in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens.
