George D. Meyer, 79, of Willow Street, PA died February 21, 2012 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was born in Roxborough, PA., the son of the late Frank T. and Mildred Sweeney Meyer. He was married 50 years to Joanne Diffenbaugh Meyer.

He was a graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School and San Bernardino Valley College, CA at which time he played football, quarterback position. The one year they won so many games they named him "The Magician".

Don was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lancaster.

He served in the U.S. Army in Stuttgart, Germany.

Don was sole owner with his wife of Keystone TV and Appliances for 45 years.

He enjoyed fishing, boating, golfing and especially working with flowers, raising hibiscus plants from seed.

Surviving besides his wife is a brother, Paul E. Meyer, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank T. Jr. and John J. Meyer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E Orange Street, Lancaster, PA on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 11:00AM with Rev. Daniel Mitzel as Celebrant.  Interment will follow in Woodward Hill Cemetery, Lancaster, PA. There will be a viewing at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home& Crematory, 414 E. King Street, Lancaster, PA on Sunday, February 26, 2012 from 7-9PM and on Monday at the funeral home from 9:30- 10:30AM. There will be a Christian Prayer Service on Sunday evening at 8:30PM at the funeral home.
