George Phillip Kimber, 97, of Lititz, PA, with faith in his Savior, Jesus Christ, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2024. Born in Lynn, MA, he was the son of the late Joshua and Mary (Hannify) Kimber. He was married 40 years to his beloved wife Kathleen (Keeney) Kimber.

George was a proud veteran of the US Navy and served honorably during WWII.

George dedicated his life to preaching and teaching for more than 60 years. He received two Masters degrees and a Doctorate and taught as a professor at Messiah College. He was also the founding pastor of 3 Christian churches with the final one being Hempfield Brethren in Christ Church.

One of the highlights of George's career was publishing two books. He was an avid reader all of his life and it helped him excel when it came to teaching and inspiring many lives along his journey.

In addition to his wife Kathleen, George is survived by his daughter, Nan P. Kimber-Fling; step-children: Heidi and Bradford Bloom; grandchildren: Sam, Amy, and Adam Gawad; great-grandchildren: Andres, Kai, Camila Gawad-Arostegui and Noura Howdyshell. He was predeceased by his brother John Kimber and his first wife, Nell Anne Orr-Kimber.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Hope Born in Christ (Hempfield Brethren in Christ) Church, 2600 Marietta Ave, Lancaster, PA 17601, with no visitation prior.
