George Jones, 82, of Lancaster, passed away on Thursday November 38, 2018 at Hamilton Arms. George was born in Hopewell, VA to John and Mary (Jones) Jones. George was a construction worker by trade. He loved taking day trips to Atlantic City and Baltimore. George was a passionate volunteer at many Lancaster churches. George is survived by many nieces and nephews in addition to his childhood best friend, Herman Holloway. He is preceded in death by 9 siblings; Virginia, Eva, John Lloyd, Robert, Frank, David, Jonah, Pearl, and Roxie. Home Going Services for George will be held at 1 PM on Friday November 16, 2018 at Ebenezer Baptist Church; 701 N Lime St, Lancaster, PA 17602. A viewing will be held at the church from 12 PM to 1 PM. Interment will follow in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
