George Duncan, 57, of Manheim Township, passed away at Hershey Medical Center on March 2, 2016, from complications after a stem cell transplant hoping for a cure for myelofibrosis. George was born in Lancaster and was the son of the late Eugene and Barbara (Brown) Duncan. He graduated from LCHS in 1976. He leaves behind wife Sandy (Spoo), son Cody and daughter Elise all of Lancaster. George is also survived by a brother Gene (Linda) Duncan and their daughters. George was self-employed as a bookkeeper and loved spending time with his family at their cabin in Clinton County and enjoying the peace and solitude of the mountains. George had a great sense of humor, was a good friend to everyone and always had a smile on his face and a story to share. He was a member of PVSA, the 8th Ward Club and WCSA. George was a devoted husband and father. He always felt his children were his greatest accomplishment and the most important thing in his life. A Memorial Service will be held at the discretion of the family at a later date. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at HMC for the tremendous care they provided George during his lengthy hospital stay. Contributions can be made in his memory to The MPN Research Foundation or BeTheMatch.org, the organization that found George's donor match. Also any donations of blood or platelets to replenish the abundant supply that George was given at HMC would be appreciated.
