Obituary

George W. Crook, 94, of Fayetteville, formerly of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at The Village of Laurel Run in Fayetteville, PA. He was the son of the late Wilson and Victoria (Thompson) Crook. He was the husband of the late Mary C. Crook who passed away September 17, 2014. George worked as a PBX Installer at Bell Telephone Co., retiring after 39 years of service. He volunteered at the LGH Health Campus for many years. He was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church where he was a past member of the Silver Threads and the Guys & Dolls club. George also enjoyed fishing, gardening and traveling. He is survived by a son, George B. Crook, husband of Gail, of Palm Bay, FL; a daughter, Barbara A. Runyon, wife of Samuel D., of St. Thomas, PA. Also surviving are four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kristin Runyon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Friday, September 1, 2017 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Rd, Lancaster, PA 17601. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 1:30PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in George's memory to the Kristin Runyon Memorial Scholarship Fund, Summit Health Development Office, 785 5th Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
