Geneva M. Rudy, 95, formerly of Bausman, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at St. Anne's Retirement Community where she resided for the past 4 years. She was born in Lancaster to the late George and Clara (Searle) Flick and was the wife of the late Frederick M. Rudy who passed away in 1988.
Born on October 19, 1917, she was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lancaster where she was a member of the Mother's Club and later the Golden Hills Club. She graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School in 1935. Until starting her family, she worked for many years as a machine operator at the Hamilton Watch Company and then as a waitress at the Hotel Brunswick in Lancaster and a clerk at the Mailmans Department store.
In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, crocheting and playing pinochle with her monthly card club. She also loved to travel and went on many bus trips with her sister and friends. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family and attending many of her grandchildren's activities.
She is survived by her son George J, husband of Marianne T Rudy of Lancaster; three grandchildren: James R, David J and Joseph M Rudy; and one sister, Louise, wife of John Sabinash of Mountville.
Her family would like to express their everlasting gratitude to everyone at St Anne's Retirement Community for the loving, compassionate care that they gave to her and them for these past years.
