Freda R. Stehman, 81, of Columbia passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Susquehanna Nursing and Rehab Center. Born in Elliotsburg, PA she was the daughter of the late Cloyd and Anna (Stoner) Hower. She was the wife of the late Jay Stehman, Sr. who passed away in 2004. She was a homemaker for most of her life and loved babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Freda also enjoyed caring for her flowers around her house and loved her many cats and dogs she owned over the years. Freda's faith was very important to her and she was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses of Mount Joy. She is survived by three daughters; Gail Hoover wife of Tom of Mount Joy, Beatrice Anderson wife of Bill of Mount Joy, Susan Oremland of Columbia; Also surviving are eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; a brother, Larry Hower of Elliotsburg, PA and a host of loving aunts, nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son, Jay Stehman, Jr. Services and interment will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
