Frank E. Phipps, 73, of Dover, PA passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 14, 2020. Born in Decatur, IL he was the son of the late John H. and Inola I. (Sittingdown) Phipps. He was the loving husband of Mary (Garner) Phipps with whom he shared 21 years of marriage. After high school graduation Frank proudly earned his associate's degree. He honorably served his country by joining the Unite States Navy. Frank went on to work as a System Technician until his retirement. Frank attended Bermudian Church of the Brethren in East Berlin, PA. In his free time Frank could be found outdoors, he loved hiking and camping. Frank especially enjoyed trips to Pine Creek, where he would canoe and kayak. Frank was a history buff. He and his family enjoyed trips to Gettysburg and Harper's Ferry where he could make history come alive. Frank would often take trips with his son back to Illinois to go hunting at their cabin. He also devoted some of his time to researching his family history and genealogy. In addition to his devoted wife Mary Phipps, Frank is survived by his children Ashley Phipps, Anthea Shock, and Aaron Phipps, his step-children Patrick DeSantis and Lacey DeSantis, his siblings Ellen, John, Phil, Kathy, Laura, and Colleen, and his seven grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents John H. Phipps and Inola I. (Sittingdown) Phipps. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at 2:30PM at Gifford Pinchot State Park,York side, Pavilion #1 shadyside, bring your lawn chairs and umbrellas in case of rain.
