IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frank Milton
Burris, Jr
October 25, 2024
Frank Milton Burris Jr., age 81, peacefully passed away on October 25, 2024, at Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy. Born in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Frank and Sara (Howard) Burris, Sr. and the beloved and devoted husband of Shirley W. (Stauffer) Burris. He was the former owner of Remco Maintenance, focusing on commercial cleaning for 34 years. Upon transferring ownership of the business, Frank then worked as an Account Manager at Hillyard Lancaster, which was formerly Firestone Paper and Supply and retired in December 2016.
In his lifetime Frank enjoyed hunting, played baseball, dabbled in golfing, and had a strong arm in tennis. He started playing trumpet in elementary school and went on to be a member of the Camp Curtin Junior High School Band. Frank was well-versed in music. He enjoyed watching football, namely Penn State and the Eagles. He was acute in history, politics and numbers. He was quick with a joke and making things light. He valued family and adored his wife. Frank was about doing what was right and honoring our country. He himself was a tower of strength and proved that until the end.
In addition to his wife Shirley, Frank is survived by his children: Cheryl Ann Mohr, Christi Lynne McGinnis, Elizabeth Nichole Siegrist (wife of Captain Allen Siegrist, USN, RET) and Matthew Bryan Burris (husband of Janetta); 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and 1 sister: Patricia Eby.
In addition to his parents, Frank is preceded in death by his daughter Caren Elaine Burris and two grandsons: Brandon Cole Mohr and Baby McGinnis.
