Frances A. "Fran" Brouse, 89, of Lititz, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at Luther Acres. Born in Lebanon, Fran was the daughter of the late Ammon B. and Mary E. (Hoffer) Brouse. Fran earned her diploma in nursing at Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing, Philadelphia in 1950 and later a Bachelor's degree from Villanova University, a Master's degree in Health Education at St. Joseph's University, and another Master's in Pediatric Nursing from Gwynedd-Mercy College. Fran had an extensive teaching career in nursing. She had numerous clinical experiences in maternal health care and medical surgery in the United States and abroad. From 1958 to 1970, Fran served as a missionary with the Lutheran Church of America, in Liberia, West Africa. A member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Lancaster, Fran enjoyed swimming, listening to classical music and opera, and playing the organ and piano. Fran is survived by her sister, Eileen Martin, of Manheim; 6 nieces and nephews: Ammon, Marianna, Roberta, Drew, Dwight, and Denise. She was preceded in death by her sisters: Winifred Shucker, Myrtle Muth, and Nancy Boltz. Memorial Services for Fran will be held at 10AM, Saturday, October 1, 2016 in the chapel of Luther Acres, 600 E. Main St., Lititz, PA 17543.
