Florence Truey Henderson, 88, of 124 Hilltop Drive, Conestoga, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday September 19 ^th .

She was the wife of the late Albert R. Henderson who died in 1975. Born in Ortonville, Michigan, Florence was the daughter of the late Harvey and Florence Smith McCauley.

Florence had been an elementary teacher for the DeSoto County School District in Arcadia Florida for 20 years, retiring in 1983. She had also served as the librarian there for 10 years. She had also worked as a social worker in Detroit for 3 years.

An active member of First United Methodist Church in Millersville, she was involved in the United Methodist Womens Group, and served as a Sunday School teacher, librarian and greeter.

She is survived by a daughter Susan  married to David M. Rohrer of Conestoga, 3 grandchildren, and a sister, Betty Kneise of Fenton, Michigan. She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph T. Henderson, and 2 sisters: Barbara Pickering and Karen Gordier.

Friends will be received on Saturday from 9-10AM at First United Methodist Church, 121 N. George St., Millersville, PA 17551, with the funeral services to follow at 10AM. Interment in the Pequea Brethren in Christ Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Florence's memory to First United Methodist Church in Millersville.
