Eugene B. Zeigler, 104, of Lancaster, passed away Monday, August 8, 2011 at Moravian Manor Nursing Home. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Eugene B. and Katherine (Houser) Zeigler. Eugene was the husband of Margaret L. Zeigler who died in 1984 after 54 years of marriage.

Eugene proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corp. Eugene was employed by Armstrong as a Draftsman for 37 years and was the oldest living retiree. He was a long time member of the YMCA where he enjoyed swimming until age 100 and rode his beloved Harley until age 84.

Eugene is survived by two daughters, Margaret Schopf of Lancaster, and Katherine Myers wife of Jay of Lancaster. Eight grandchildren, Steven Cicero, Lisa Wylam, Eric Schopf, Martin Schopf, Stewart Schopf, Christopher Myers, Jennifer Poplyk, Melissa Myers-Soberanis, and eleven great grandchildren survive him.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
