Eugene E. Honert, 83, of Lancaster, PA passed away on Sunday November 16th, 2025, at the Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center.

Born in Davenport, Iowa, he is the son of late Edwin and Anne Honert, and brother of the late Judith Kask. He was widowed by his wife Carol in June of 2007.

Eugene graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in the Telecommunication Arts with minors in English and Journalism. He later moved to Pennsylvania where he was employed as an audio/video editor for advertising by Armstrong and then Excel Productions before retiring. Besides being an avid carpenter and jack of all trades, he loved vacationing with the family at the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and enjoyed fishing, skiing, golfing, playing tennis, and photography. He also fulfilled a lifelong dream by receiving his pilot's license.

Eugene was always quick to offer everyone guidance, support, or be a copilot for any project or adventure. Not only did he cherish his family, he also relished the stories, laughter, and memories they continually shared and created together. Eugene is survived by his sons Kevin and Colin, as well as Kevin's wife Jennifer and their 3 kids Olivia, Everett, and Cooper.

The family will be planning a Celebration of Life for Eugene – details are to be determined. Interment will be in Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster. Memorial Contributions in Eugene's memory can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
