Esta June "Essie" Hecker, 84, of Lancaster passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at ManorCare in Lancaster. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Burtrum L. and Cora (Roman) Sheaffer.

Esta had worked at Tyco as an electronic assembler for over 15 years and held other administrative jobs for many years.  She was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church here in Lancaster. She enjoyed going to plays, crocheting, word puzzles and reading the bible.

She is survived by a son, William J. Hecker, of Lancaster, and a brother, Robert R. Sheaffer, of Willow Street. She was preceded in death by a brother, Burtrum Sheaffer, Jr.

A Funeral Service will be at 2PM on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St, Lancaster, PA with the Rev. Stephen P. Verkouw officiating. A viewing will be at the funeral home on Wednesday between 1-2PM. Interment in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
