Ervin Carl Laukhuff, IV, 53, of Lititz, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2013 at his home. Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of Ervin Carl Laukhuff, III and Phyllis (Fritsch). He is preceded in death by his grandparents Charles and Francis Fritsch. Carl was the husband of Christine (Mehaffey) Laukhuff with whom he celebrated 34 years of marriage.
Carl was a welder for the Heil Company with over 22 years of service. He then worked as a meter reader for First Energy, Lebanon, PA. He was a member of the Manheim Sportsmen's Association. Carl loved the outdoors and always said it was the closest thing to Heaven. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting, hiking and canoeing. Carl had an interest in the Native American spiritual ways. Carl's Catholic faith and family was important to him. Carl loved his family and family was first.
In addition to his wife, Christine, and his parents, Ervin and Phyllis, Carl is survived by his daughter, Tanya Laukhuff-Sweigert, wife of Gregg; step-mother, Nancy Laukhuff, wife of Ervin Laukhuff III; mother-in-law, Sallyann Suarez; a sister, Cindy Laukhuff; step-sister, Kimberly Laukhuff; a brother, Wayne Laukhuff, husband of Anne; Step-brother, Donnie Anderson, husband of Paula; 2 brother-in-laws, Thomas James "TJ" Mehaffey, husband of Judy; Brian Mehaffey, husband of Robin and niece Alexis Mehaffey; 3 nephews, Andy Wood, Derek Laukhuff and Nelson Cueto Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602, with Rev. Daniel Mitzel as Celebrant. Family and Friends will be received from 10-11AM at the church. Interment will be at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Bausman. Please OMIT flowers.
