Ernest G. Supplee, 84, of Lancaster passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Lancaster Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Grace M. (Showers) Supplee to whom he was married for 61 years. Born in Honey Brook he was a son of the late Grant H. and Anna L. (Guest) Supplee. Ernest graduated from Stevens Technical School and served in the US Naval Reserve and active duty from 1949 to 1956 as a communications technical specialist. He worked in research and development at Armstrong World Industries, Lancaster for 45 years. Ernest enjoyed traveling to many places in the US and foreign lands, camping with his family, antiquing and hunting. His love of history and family led him to become the Supplee family genealogist. He was a member of the Lancaster County Historical Society. In addition to his wife, Grace he is survived by his children Mark E. Supplee husband of Krystyna of Lansdale, PA and Lisa L. wife of Christopher Broderick of Los Angeles, CA; four grandchildren Alexander Mark Supplee, Julianna Grace Supplee, Catherine Grace Broderick and Colleen Nicole Broderick; three sisters: Mary Crabtree of Phoenixville, PA, Alice Whitmyer of Indianapolis, IN and Rebecca Lundgren of Sinking Springs, PA; one brother David Supplee of Honey Brook, PA, and many nieces and nephews. Ernest was preceded in death by grandson Ryan Christopher Broderick, two sisters Margaret Newswanger and Florence Plummer and six brothers Thomas, Benjamin, Lawrence, Joseph, Philip and Charles Supplee. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 28, 2016 at 11AM from the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike Lititz, PA 17543 with Rev. Mark Tedford officiating. Interment will be held immediately following the service in Long Memorial UMC Cemetery, Neffsville. Viewings will be held Thursday evening from 6-8PM at the funeral home and also on Friday morning from 10-11AM prior to his funeral service. Flowers are welcomed and the family requests contributions in his memory may be made to Hempfield United Methodist Church, 3050 Marietta Ave. Lancaster, PA 17601.
